In addition to “island,” “Shima” indicates a “specific region” as if “washima” were used in Okinawa to indicate a hometown. “Shima no Uta” is a “traditional song of people who share regional history and culture” and “a song that lives powerfully in the community.” A concert composed of singers from Okinawa, Yaeyama, and Amami, with bilingual guidance, that foreigners can enjoy together.
