Profile
Born on 1967/12/16 in Shiraho, Ishigaki City. Sagittarius type A.
He studied Yaeyama folk music from the age of 11 with his father, and won the highest award at the Yaeyama Classical Music Competition at the age of 17, the youngest at the time. I started living in Naha at age 18 to go to university. The air of Naha had a great influence on his music, and while carefully protecting Shimauta (Okinawan music), which is his root music, he gave birth to his unique style, such as singing on a live house stage in Western attire and singing with band sounds in the background.
They are developing a variety of activities that are constantly evolving, such as “ARA Yukito with Sunday,” where they sing mainly Yaeyama folk music with Sunday, who is the junior of the island, “Parsha Club,” which acts as vocalist, “Acoustic Parsha,” which has an acoustic sound approach, and the unit “THE SAKISHIMA meeting” with SHIMOJI Isamu.
“Seiya,” recorded with Yuko Sato's piano in the background, was released in 2011. It showed the cutting edge of evolution in the combination of three strings of songs and Western instruments.
