Kampen performing arts are performing arts where the Ryukyu side entertained sakuboji from China by performing omoro, handodori, and kumidori. On the other hand, the programs performed at Kampen Entertainment were in Ryukyu language. Therefore, the Ryukyu side prepared a manual with a Chinese translation of “engi monogatari” for sakuboji and presented it to zakuboji. In this report, we will focus on “The Old Man, the Old Woman,” and the group dance performed at the Kampen Performing Arts, and compare them with Ryukyu lyrics, lyrics, and Chinese translations based on drama stories. As a result,
1. How many differences are there between Ryukyu content and the Chinese translation of “engi story”
2. What did the Ryukyu side try to convey to sakuji using the Chinese translation of “engi monogatari”
3. What is the significance of performing Kampen Geimei against Sakuboji
