Cast: Hitoshi Kikugawa (synth) /Higa Keiko (song/sanshin/taiko) /Atsuhiro OSHIRO Atsuhiro (Ryukyu violin/viper) /Dinah (Shima Jazz vo/p) /Makino Setsuko (dr/per)

Front artists active all over Japan gathered on the theme of Ryukyu and Okinawa at the request of commercial composer and behind-the-scenes producer Hitoshi Kikugawa, such as the commercial songs “Ufuya” and “Washita Uchina-Kensanpin,” which are familiar from Okinawa. As a workshop-type concert for people aiming to become music creators or those who want to feel the multifaceted nature of music even more, top musicians begin sound making each session, and introduce the fun of music based on experiences that cannot be taught at school. A sound making show using a synthesizer PC will be held in the second part of the first performance.

●Producer's comments
We humans can enjoy sound. It is about enjoying music that is a product of inspiration and imagination by enriching the emotions, sensitivities, and imagination of both the creator and the viewer of the music. In order to enhance so-called human nature, such as emotions and sensitivities, it is important to try participating in various forms of music, such as playing a musical instrument, just listening, singing, dancing, etc. Of course, that also requires physical strength and vitality. You can be productive and productive by participating in music, and you can be peaceful and peaceful through music.

The five musicians who gathered for this project (there are also people involved in places that cannot be seen, such as sound, video shooting, distribution staff, etc. with the cooperation of live houses), as described above, aim to connect to productivity spun out of emotion, sensitivity, and imagination, and in turn, a feeling of wishing for peace through music.

As for the goal of the regular live Vol.1, band leader Hitoshi Kikugawa would like to explore ancient Ryukyu songs and old-fashioned Okinawan songs while trying to unearth old Ryukyu songs and old-fashioned Okinawan songs and take on the challenge of pioneering ways to approach each song using synths.

I imagine that the inclusiveness of melodic and rhythmic Okinawan music with orthodox songs, Sanshin (Three-string guitar), and taiko drums by Higa Keiko is mixed with a swing essence by Dina of Shima Jazz vocalist, Ryukyu melodic development played by violin and viper by Atsuhiro Oshiro, and further application of backing rhythms by drum percussion Makino Setsuko to further Okinawan music. Yes, I will. The first session is the first step towards establishing originality as a band. I would like not only Okinawan music fans, but also young aspiring creators, people who love jazz so much, and melodic Ryukyu melodies to experience what led them to become one trend.

● Artist profile

◎ Hitoshi Kikugawa (Niraikanai P/synth)
Member of Japan Synthesizer Professional Arts. Commercial composer and behind-the-scenes producer for commercials such as the commercial songs “Ufuya” and “I Shita Uchina-Kensanpin,” which are familiar to Okinawans. Keyboardist, synth player.

“Niraikanai from another world is said to be at the bottom of the sea, at the bottom of the earth, far east (in the direction of Tatsumi). The Divine World Niraikanai, the source of fertility and life, first came to deliver Ryukyu music to many people around the world. There's also the next one.”

◎ Atsuhiro Oshiro (Ryukyu Violin/Viper)
Born in Naha, lives in Kyoto. A pioneer of 6-string vipers in Japan. It has a reputation for its ability to respond to various genres and for its unconventional “loop playing style.” It works to pursue and spread Ryukyu instrumental music. For the first time in history, a ground song with only one violin by Eisa folk dance and Ryukyu dance was performed. After performing Ryukyuish music (Ryukyuish music) in America, he was selected as an official advertising ambassador for the electric violin manufacturer 3Dvarius (France). It is often picked up by media such as the Nihon Keizai Shimbun, Okinawa Times, and Kyoto Shimbun. Up to now, they have released 3 CD albums: “Ryukyu Violin,” “Ryukyu Violin II,” and “Battle Goat.”

“I do two things every day: 'Violin Music Born in Okinawa, Pursuit of Ryukyu Violin' and 'Exploring the Possibilities of a New Instrument Called the Viper. ' Vipers sometimes play Ryukyu violin music, but what can they do with the main 6-string electric violin!? It's a challenge, so I play something other than Ryukyu a lot. Of course, I also play various genres on the violin, but what I want to push forward the most here is Ryukyu violin music. Over the past few years, I've played most of the Ryukyu Violin's live performances with the violin. The reason is that I want to let people know that Ryukyu violin music can be played with a normal violin and increase the number of people who want to try playing it. The misunderstanding that “viper = the instrument called the Ryukyu violin” has spread, so I'm thinking of rewriting it.”

◎ Dina Miki (Island Jazz vo/p)
A jazz singer who sings with a sense of rhythm and a soulful voice that is far from Japanese. Received the Best Vocal Award at the YouTube Jazz Contest. The authentic SWING style prepared in New Orleans, USA, the hometown of black music, and the unique “island jazz” style that championed the Okinawan Shimauta (Okinawan music) feeling by mixing the sunshine and wind of Hawaii, a paradise where miraculous relationships continue, became a hot topic. Moved to Okinawa from Tokyo. From 2020, the YouTube channel and online lessons will also expand nationwide.

“In the voice training videos I do on YouTube, the image completely changes even with the same sound depending on how the voice sounds and rhythm, so I try the same song in jazz, pop, Shimauta (Okinawan music) style, etc. Also, there is an original song with an Afro-rhythm from the island, so I'd be happy if we could do that too.”

After going through drumming classes with Takeshi Inomata, he studied under Mr. Ejiri of the Rhythm Education Research Institute and Mr. Nakamura of the Tokyo Union. Joined the female fusion band “Sunshine Babe” in 1981. Performed at Yatsugatake Jazz Festival, Fuji TV Music Fair, Kenji Sawada Show, etc. It won the Best Music Award at the Malaysian Music Festival, and won the Best Group Award the following year as well. They are developing a wide range of activities, such as participating in the female salsa band “Chica Boon” and female funk bands.
