● Period opera [Origin of the tragic love Denser section]

Denser is a conversion of “denshu”, that is, “it is...” and “it seems to be...” is the meaning of folklore. Uehara Village must have been an extremely important place in the western part of Iriomote Island, for visiting villages such as Zaikan no kami and officials, monitoring foreign ships, and rescuing Nanba ships. As if nothing had happened, the villagers were trying to improve themselves by singing the teachings of their predecessors every day. In 1768, Riken Miyara wrote and composed the lyrics as a didactic song during the time of Yohito Uehara. It was Hiroshi Matsumura, the first chairman of the theater company Gunshi, who put the story on the stage as an Okinawan play.
