Born in Nago in 1960. Since his birthday was New Year's Day (Kyu-shogatsu (New year on lunar calendar)), it was nicknamed 'Gen-chan.' He made a record debut with the original song “Kanasando” when he was 21 years old. After that, he offered a replacement poem for the original song 'Sekaho' to Awamori's' Zanpa 'CM by Higa Shuzo (Distillery), a big break and became a popular person with no strangers in the prefecture. He is currently active as a singer, as a host of events, and as a TV and radio personality.
