Profile
Born in Ishigaki Island, Okinawa Prefecture in 1968. In 88, he formed BEGIN in Tokyo with SHIMABUKURO Masaru, Uechi, etc., who was a friend of chikuma from elementary school. Appeared in TBS “Heisei specialty TV squid band heaven” (commonly known as: Ikaten) in 89, shining in Ikaten King. Debut in the next year single “I miss”. In 2000, he released two albums “Biggin Shimauta (Okinawan music)” under the name “Omoto Takeo”, and became a big hit both inside and outside the prefecture. From 2001, the “Utha Day Concert” is held in Okinawa every June. After 2002, he has moved his residence to Okinawa main island and continued its activities.
