Profile
This three-piece band was formed in Tokyo in 1988 by classmates from Ishigaki Island “Eisho Higa” (vo/g), SHIMABUKURO Masaru (g), UECHI Hitoshi. (key). In 1989, he won the TV program “Squid Band Heaven” and won the 12th squid heaven king seat. Major debut in “I miss” the next year. The original song was mainly in blues pop, but after the release of the album “Begin no Shimauta (Okinawan music) Omototakeo” in 2000, “Seems to Tear”, “Islandan Untreasure”, “Ojii's Boasting Orion Beer” etc. The original Shimauta pop music also attracted attention, and now it has gained high popularity and reputation as one of the most famous bands in the Okinawan music world. Since 2001, “Utha Day Concert” is held every year in Okinawa.
