A creative drama that unfolds the complicated period just before Okinawa's return to Japan in full in Uchinaguchi (Okinawan language). Based on the Okinawan period drama “Untamagiru,” which was loved by many people, it is an idol drama that changed the period setting just before returning to Japan in 1972, and is a masterpiece of director Takane Tsuyoshi that received rave reviews overseas. It is a rare work developed in full-length Uchinaguchi (Okinawan) with Japanese subtitles. An ordinary man is given superpowers, becomes a bandit, steals from unscrupulous companies, etc., shares it with villagers, and becomes a popular person on the island, but the background is Okinawa under US military rule, and Okinawa's complicated position can be glimpsed. Kobayashi Kaoru plays the main character Giru, Togawa Jun plays the younger sister Chiru, and Aoyama Chikako plays the bewitching Murray, and famous Okinawan actors stand aside. It won 4th place in the 63rd (1989) Kinema Junpo Top Ten Japanese Films, 14th (1989) Hochi Film Award Best Picture Award, Berlin International Film Festival Caligari Award and others.

In Okinawa just before the return of Japan, a man working at a sugar factory, Giroux (Kobayashi Kaoru) lures out the adopted daughter Murray (Aoyama Chikako) of Nishihara Oyakata (TAIRA Susumu) and has a relationship, but that becomes known to his master. Also, Giroux, who has learned that Murray is the incarnation of a pig, causes her master's anger and hides herself in Untamamori on the advice of her younger sister Chiru (Togawa Jun). Giroux undergoes special surgery from the forest monster Kijimner (Miyazato Hidehiro), receives superpowers, becomes the bandit Untamagiru, steals weapons and food from US military warehouses and unscrupulous animal companies, shares them with independent guerrillas and poor villagers, and becomes a popular person all over the island. While appearing in a play based on Giroux in his own role, Master Nishihara's spear hits him, and Girou's superpowers are lost. The months and days go by, Sunrah (Kobayashi Kaoru), who looks just like Giroux, works at the sugar refinery, and Murray is there too.
