Honda Motoko: Motoko Honda
Piano player/composer/sound artist
Born in Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture, and lives in San Francisco/Oakland, California. I started learning piano and music notation at age 4, went to the US at age 19, majored in percussion and piano at Bethany University, and graduated from the performer and composer club (African-American improvisation major) at the California Institute of the Arts (California Institute of the Arts). He completed the film music composition course at UCLA.
Described as “The Alchemist of the Keyboard” by the Los Angeles Times and as the “Muse Incarnation” by Greg Berg of Metal Jazz, etc., his unique composition and performance techniques and musicality that combine extended techniques (special performances) and improvisation were highly evaluated, and Pulitzer Prize finalist Wadada Leo Smith, Guggenheim Fellows Elliot Sharp, and Lucas Ligeti and Nels Ku He has performed and recorded with famous musicians such as Rhine, Mike Watt, and Ben Wendell.
Currently, as a pianist, composer, and sound artist, he performs original music that combines various modern piano performance techniques, contemporary music composition techniques, and electronics, jazz, and improvisation in various arrangements, such as solo, duo, trio, etc., and is active internationally, including in America, Europe, and Japan. Special performances at museums such as Hammer Museum and Moody Center for the Arts, and special compositions and concerts at artist residencies, and collaborative performances with dancers and visual artists are also frequently performed in various countries, and invited lectures/performances from various universities such as UC Santa Cruz, Rice University, ArteZ, Tokyo Zokei University, and Chukyo University have also been performed internationally.

He has been active at the Shoro Club for 35 years.

Involved in a wide variety of music productions.
As a composer, he will present a collection of chamber music works such as “Silent Movie,” which collects commissioned works etc. from Fontec.
When they moved to Kyoto, they were reunited with the Bachet acoustic sculpture that was restored at Kyoto City University of the Arts, and they were involved in that research and launched “Unknown Silence” to release the sound source. Recently, he has been in charge of music for the anime ARIA series for a long time, such as music for “Kozamama,” directed by Yosuke Nakagawa.
Representative works include the “No Nukes Jazz Orchestra” with a total of 20 people in 2012, with many musicians from overseas participating

Kenji Kishimoto: Yoshiharu Kishimoto
Born in Shizuoka Prefecture on 1991/10/7, type AB.
Since I was a child, I have been familiar with a wide range of music such as blues, classical, and rock through the guitar, and was impressed by Jim Hall's music and aspired to jazz.
After graduating from high school, he moved to Tokyo alone and began working as a professional guitarist.
Based on the basics cultivated in classical music and a wide range of musical knowledge, he is active not only in jazz but also in fields such as contemporary music, improvisation, and Middle Eastern music, and has participated in numerous recordings and tours.
Until now, jazz guitars have been given to Mr. Takao Naoi and Mr. Satoshi Inoue, rhythm training for Mr. Keigo Matsuno and Mr. Tatsuhiko Toizawa,
He studied ear training and composition under Ryotsuke Hashizume, and studied Arabic classical music under Mr. Tsunemi Yuji, an oud player representing Japan.
He is also active as a fretless guitar player, which is rare in Japan, and is developing his own music incorporating elements of classical Arabic music.
