A New Year's festival to thank the harvest of crops and pray for a good harvest next year. The Sona and Kandatsu Shichi-sai (Harvest festival) (Shichi) was designated as an important intangible cultural property of the country in 1991.

Day 1 (Tushinuyu) Purification rituals and preparations for welcoming the new year at each house

On day 2 (yukui: begging), Sona performs Shinto rituals to bring Gokoku hojo (A pray for an abundant grain harvest) at Maedomari Beach and Honryu Utaki at Maehama Beach. Flag heads are raised, and boat rowings, yahnuti (paddle dance), bojutsu, Shi-shi mai (Lion dance performance) dances, milk processions, and anger dances are dedicated to welcoming the gods. In Hoshiritsu's Milk Parade, Ohoho, which can only be seen in Kandatsu, appears and plays a funny role.

On the 3rd day (act of thanksgiving for water), Sona makes a Uhirakha wish, and Kadate performs a Winukah ceremony and village cleansing.
