Symposium 1 “The Future of Okinawa Army Hospital Haebaru Bunker”

We will look back on the history of the Army Hospital Bunker that Haebaru Town has put into practice, and review the current Army Hospital Bunker efforts through preservation cases and use cases of war ruins in other regions. Identify issues related to preservation and utilization faced by army hospital bunkers, and think about what they should aim for in the future.

Now that 80 years after the war are approaching, opportunities to listen directly to stories from people who have experienced war have also declined, and opportunities to think about war and peace through war ruins (fields/things) are increasing. Think about what kind of efforts are necessary to utilize war ruins in educational settings, and how to use them in the future.
