The history that Taira Toshiko and her fellow women, who revived bashofu making, which had almost been interrupted at Kijoka in Ogimi Village after the war, are exhibited as “Kijoka's Bashofu Monogatari” for the sake of their family, for their lives, and to connect pride in local culture to the future. At the 500 Kame Memorial Hall, works related to the founding proponents of the museum, Ohara Soichiro and Sotomura Kichinosuke (first director of the Kurashiki Folk Crafts Museum), etc. are mainly exhibited, such as the fibers and manufacturing processes of Itobasho, and cotton kimonos made by Toshiko Taira during the Women's Stewardship Corps era.
