■Seiji Gushiken Japanese Painting Exhibition
Gushiken Seiji (real name: Koka) was born in 1908 in Mawashimura Aza Hantagawa as the fourth son of father Koshen and mother Mantsu, and moved to Tokyo in 1927. In 1929, he privately treated himself to Japanese-style painter and sculptor Yamada Shinzan, and his family name was “Koga.” After that, he studied under Japanese-style painter Ito Shinsui in 1940, and changed his family name to “Seiji” in 1963. In addition to this Deha exhibition and the work “Knitting a Hat” exhibited at the 5th Japan Exhibition, 14 other works are on display.

Also, every era has been greatly influenced by the positions and circumstances in which they were placed. How did the changing times influence Okinawan artists and their works? I will introduce iconic works created based on Okinawa.
