Okinawa realized the era of the Ryukyu Kingdom, the era of great trade through relay trade between China and Japan, Korea, and Southeast Asian countries, and has deepened close exchanges with major regions in Asia.
While looking back on the history surrounding the Ryukyu and Okinawa seas, while expectations are high for Okinawa as a gateway to Asia and as a base for exchange, in the current situation where the pandemic caused by the novel coronavirus is having a significant impact on inbound traffic, etc., we will consider how to promote tourism exchange by utilizing the geographical characteristics of Okinawa, which is composed of islands surrounded by the sea, and how to coexist with the natural heritage of Churaumi/Churashima Okinawa and pass it on to the future.
