Kamakura is an ancient city surrounded by the sea and mountains. In 2011, women who walked around this town at the “Nuclear Power Plant Parade” formed the “Imagine Bon Dance Club.” The girls sing the thoughts that come up in their daily lives and start dancing. “Fermented Bon Song” was born from making alcoholic beverages, miso, and bread. A “salt cooking festival” where salt is made by drawing seawater and cooking a fire with firewood. Eventually, quirky songs and dances connect people and draw a circle of “peace.” This film depicts “life” in Kamakura and Hayama after 3.11, while also covering unique bakeries and sake breweries. The world of “fermentation” of microorganisms and the movements of planets in the solar system intersect. It then projects how people and local culture slowly change as if they were “fermenting.” It has been 11 years since the Great East Japan Earthquake and nuclear accident. What was born at that time certainly continues even now. A “fermentation” documentary from Kamakura where different genres such as music, art, and journalism are incorporated into the film.

Sagara Ayumi profile
Mother of 3 children, General Incorporated Association Watato Chikyu Representative Director/Presiding over Wholesome/Fermentation Life Advisor Pro. /Fermentation Life Promotion Association Okinawa School Principal/Judo Therapist/Homeopath I love “fermentation and nature,” and I do fermented food preparation workshops inside and outside of the prefecture. From the desire to preserve a better global environment for children, we will continue planning and dissemination that questions the original state of food, agriculture, and medical care. I believe that enriching food will lead to family peace and, in turn, world peace, and I am also doing activities while enjoying myself with all my might.
