Lecturer: Uema Yoko (Professor, Graduate School of Education, University of the Ryukyus)
What kind of issues and issues are there in the environment in which women who experience pregnancy and childbirth at a young age live and in the background? Professor Yoko Uema (University of the Ryukyus), who is involved in research and support, will be invited to think together with the participants about creating a society that respects the rights of parents and children rather than childbirth and childcare isolated from society.
Uema Yoko
Professor at the University of the Ryukyus Graduate School of Education. Co-representative of the shelter “Oniwa,” which supports young births. I decided to write about sexual violence in Okinawa in the wake of the murder case by a former Marine (then a member of the US military) that occurred in Uruma City in the summer of 2016, and “Run Away Barefoot” (Ota Publishing 2017) was published the following year. After that, “I'll Give You the Sea” (Chikuma Shobo 2020) and the dialogue book “After I'm Speechless” (Chikuma Shobo 2021) with psychological counselor Sayoko Nobuta were published. “Okinawa Children's White Paper” (Kamogawa Publishing) was published in 2022 and 8.
