“Senbon Enmado Kyogen,” one of the three major nenbutsu kyogen in Kyoto, has a thousand-year history and is registered as an Intangible Folk Cultural Property of Kyoto. Unlike other Nenbutsu Kyogen, most of the programs have dialogue, which is a major feature. It is said that the kumiodori "Shishin-kanairi" was created by referring to the Noh play “Dojoji.” This time, we will introduce “Dojoji,” a nenbutsu kyogen performed every May at Injoji Temple in Kyoto. In this performance, the Kyogen stage of “Injoji” will be reproduced at the National Theatre Okinawa, and you can enjoy the stage unique to Nenbutsu Kyogen.
