“Shibasashi (An Okinawa's traditional ritual) ~ Afterglow of Asato Kiyonobu ~”
Director: Masashi Koshiishi/2012/90 min

A documentary film that follows the life of Kiyonobu Asato, a resident activist in the Showa period.
Kiyonobu Asato was born in 1913 in Keisa Yonashiro Muraya, and served in fierce battles in Shanxi Province, China. He lived as a teacher in the ruins of Okinawa and fought the huge Kin Bay Complex Plan, including the CTS (oil reserve base) as a national policy the year following the return to the mainland. If there was no “anti-CTS struggle” for ten years, Okinawa has forgotten that there was a nuclear power plant in Kin Bay. Kiyonobu Asato, who continued to say “there is no leader in the movement of Okinawa residents” and continued to follow the steps of survival of each person together, said, “The sea is the mother of people”, against the “peace industry theory” of the innovation regime of the time He continued to resist and lived 69 years of pride as a yakenanchu (Yakenanchu).
