It celebrates two years on February 24 after the “Henoko” prefectural vote in 2019. Although 70% of the total number of votes opposed the “Henoko” landfill, it is still hard to believe that the results of the vote and the significance of the prefectural vote itself are fully communicated to people across the country.
Through this symposium, we will reclaim the importance of prefectural voting to all over the country, and the adoption of an opinion that seeks a fair solution to the Henoko base problem as a concrete next measure of the “New Proposal” I will tell you the significance. In addition, the aim is to promote the adoption of the “New Proposal” petition at the Okinawa Prefectural Assembly and lead to the arousal of petition action at the national level.
Following the “Henoko” prefectural vote, the next one from Okinawa, seeks a “fair” and “democratic” solution to the issue of US military bases in Okinawa What is the “new proposal to stop the construction of Henoko new base”? We will discuss in this symposium with a practical report on the mainland.
