Profile

Born in Yomitan village in 1939. He studied under the Nomura-ryu classical music teacher, Hayashiyama TERUYA, and then under Living National Treasure Masao SHIMABUKURO. Launched Sanshin (Three-string guitar) store independently, announced Okinawan folk music on radio and TV etc. Hits such as “Trunten”, “Chon Kjimner”, “Migratory Bird of the Flow” and “Ya from Tomorrow”. He also appeared in the 2002 film “Hotel Hibiscus”, “Maryrou of the Sankaku Mountain” and “Flimun on the South Island” in 09, and performed comical performance.
