Profile

Born in Yokohama. Since childhood, he studied folk songs (songs) under his father Takemine KIZU. He studied shamisen under Hidetaro HONJO. He studied taiko (rumono) under Tsurukimi YAMADA. Since childhood, he has appeared on TV and radio folk songs and on the folk song stage. He participated in the 1st Uzbekistan World Folk Music Festival in 1997 as a representative of Japan, and won the Special Jury Prize. After that, he established his own style of 'utau while playing taiko.'

In 2002, he released a duo album “Tsurutokame” with Katsuaki Sawada, a stalwart of Tsugaru shamisen. In 2014, she announced the first full album “SHIGERI BUSHI” as a solo.
