Born in Nishikomi, Setouchi Town, Oshima-gun, Kagoshima Prefecture on March 25, 1942. He started practicing shimauta at a folk song conservation association in Amagasaki City from around 1978. In 80, he participated in the Nankai Nichinichi Shimbun folk song tournament for the first time. In 81, he returned to Amami with his family and learned to Yutaka Tsuboyama in earnest. After that, he continued his singing activities while cutting up his own shop. Even if he fell ill in February 03, he recovered well, in December of the same year, he fulfills a full-fledged return to the stage at the 50th anniversary event of the return to the Amami archipelago”. In August 04, he also singed the insertion song of the movie “Adan” and appeared.
