Profile

Singer-songwriter and writer from Naha city. After indie debut in 1996, major debut with single “countdown” the following year. 2nd single “Strongly ephemeral people” was adopted in the JAL Hawaii campaign CM song, smash hit, became a popular singer, but also suspended singer activity in 2001. In 2002, he debuted as a picture book writer with the picture book “Sand of the Star of the South Island”.
In 2004, he formed the band “SINGER SONGER” with Kururi Shigeru Kishida and others. After resuming his activities as Cocco in 2006 in his single “Sound Punch” in earnest, he also worked in novels, essays, photographs, and movies in parallel with music. In 2011, he first starred in the movie “KOTOKO” directed by Shinya Tsukamoto. His grandfather was Yasutada MAKISHI, who was highly acclaimed as an actor of Okinawan play.
