Profile

He was born in a family of performing arts in Tsuken Island, adjacent to Okinawa Main Island, and has been familiar with poetry and Sanshin (Three-string guitar) since childhood. In 2001, he made a single debut in “Bidu Shuuta” and released the first album “Bidu Shuuta” in 2003. By combining the singing voice based on the Shimauta (Okinawan music) auta and the sound produced by the top musicians in the prefecture, he won support from a wider audience. In March 2006, the new song “Kakera of Gentleness” was adopted as the campaign song for the relocation of NHK Okinawa Broadcasting Station's new company building.
