Profile

He was born in Yonashiro-cho (present Uruma City). From childhood, he went to the world of folk songs by his father and the late folksong singer Moriei Ganeko. He made a stage debut when I was 10 years old. In 1977, debuted in “Nyoshibushi” by Moriei Ganeko. “Daughter Gin Toyo” released in 1978 is a big hit. Received the Ryukyu Broadcasting Corp. Folk Song Mass Award in 1981. Participated in Ryuichi Sakamoto's tour in 1988 and 90. Currently, he manages “Minyo Stage Utahime (Live music spot)” in Naha City. They also energetically perform live performances outside the prefecture and comfort performances to nursing homes and welfare facilities in the prefecture.
