A folk song singer from Ohama, Ishigaki City. It won the first prize at the competition for the representative folk song “Tobarama,” which is also an intangible cultural property of Ishigaki Island. At age 22, he joined the Ohama District Local youth club and made efforts to preserve culture such as local folk songs and events, starting with reprints of Yaeyama Yuta.
