Profile

He was from Yomitan village. I was familiar with Ryukyuan classical music from a young age and went to Okinawa Prefectural University of Arts. After graduating from the university graduate school, he started his activities freelance. He became a Ryukyu Sokyoku Koyokai Master in 2006 and Nomura-ryu Music Association teacher in Heisei 27. After that, he became a successor of 'Kumi-odori', a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage and National Important Intangible Cultural Property, and a successor to 'Ryukyu Dance', a national important intangible cultural property. Currently, he is involved in succession activities of Ryukyu classical music, Sanshin (Three-string guitar) live, Ryukyu dance, Kumiodo, Okinawan play, etc., as a member of the three-person unit “Ryukyu Classical Women's Orchestra UMINAI” in and outside the prefecture and abroad. The name of the previous activity was Chisaki Nakao.
