I spent junior high school in London and returned home at the age of 15. In high school, he started playing electric guitars, and at the same time he started creating original songs.

In 1979, he formed a production unit WHY with guitarist Kenji Kitajima, and debuted in the album “WHY”. In parallel, he also begins the music offering and producing business.
In 1983, his solo debut in the album “VOICE”.
In 1986, “Season in the Sun” offered to TUBE was a big hit.
In 1990, he won the Japan Record Award for Composing Award for B.B. Queens “Odoru Pompokorin”.
In 1992, his own single “Unchanging Love Forever” became a million seller.
In 1993, he won 1st place in the oricon chart and best-selling author category with 12,404,990 pieces of the highest sales ever. Records sales of more than 40 million copies (CD singles and Oricon as of March 2007), the third largest composer sales ranking in the history of Japanese music.

Thereafter, he produced Nanase AIKAWA, Hideki SAIJO, Ryuichi KAWAMURA and others.
In charge of theatrical music for TV anime “Armed God Princess” (2012) and “Musibugyo” (2013).
In 2013, the original two-piece album “W FACE”, which becomes the 15th in the name of Tetsuro Oda, was released from King Records.
