Profile

A Latin band formed in 1991 in Okinawa centered around Alberto Shiroma, the 3rd generation of Japanese Peruvians.
She made her CD debut with her 1st album “OKINAWA LATINA” in 1993. It has numerous hit songs such as “Gunbatteyand,” “Victory Song,” “Sanshin (Three-string guitar) in One Hand,” and “Put Your Soul on a Condor.”
Currently, in addition to Alberto SHIROMA (vo/g) and Tom Nakasone (b), Taima Tsukasa (dr), Tamaki Chico (per), Shirakawa Mina (key), Kawakami Hajime (Tp), and MAEZATO Eiki (Tb) are participating as support members. Note that “DIAMANTES (diamantes)” means diamond in Spanish.

Okinawa's Popular Latin Band Formed in 1991, Crescent Around Alberto Shiroma, A 3rd Generation Okinawan-Peruvian. Diamantes made their sensational CD debut in 1993 with their first album, OKINAWA LATINA. Pressures, the main band members are Alberto Shiroma (vocals & guitar), Tom Nakasone (bass), with musical members, Tsuguatsu Toma (drums), Chico Tamashiro (percussion), Mina Shirakawa ( keyboard), Hajime Kawakami (trumpet), and Eiki Maesato (trombone). True to their band name is Diamantes, which means' Diamonds' in Spanish, the group is a glittering gem with a big mess.
