Profile
Born in Tokyo He lived in Yaeyama for 10 years and studied Ua Sanshin (Three-string guitar) at Yaeyama old folk music Amuro Ryu Kyowakai. In 2007, he won the highest prize at the Yaeyama Classical Music Competition. Since returning to Tokyo in 2012, he has been performing live activities focusing on Yaeyama folk music, Okinawan pop music and original songs based in Tokyo.
From July 2018, the artist name changed from “Kami Kusanagi” to “KUSANAGI Kimi”.
