Profile

Born in 1940 on Kohama Island, Yaeyama Islands. He debuted at the age of 16, and in 1957 he played with Bob Hope and the Les Brown orchestra. Until the return to the mainland in 1972, he played a full orchestra at the US military base club. Opened the jazzspot “Interlude” in the year of return. In addition to the performances at the shop, mainland performances also increase and are praised by jazz-critics and celebrities.

In 1983, the long-awaited first album “Introducing” was released. In 1984, he released his co-work “With Mar” with Maru Waldron, a world-renowned pianist Billy Holiday piano player, and the 3rd album “DUO” in 1985. In 2005, he released the first new work “Interlude” in 20 years.

Currently, he is actively active mainly on live performances throughout the country as well as Okinawa.
