Formed in 2005/8. Okinawan folk music and world folk music chorus group with 17 men and women. Lives and works in Okinawa.
The origin of the name N'Jami comes from the sea festival “Umigami-matsuri (Sea god festival) Matsuri (Njami),” which has been held all over Okinawa since ancient times. Beautiful folk songs that have been handed down in Okinawa since ancient times express indescribable nostalgia and mystery by leaving the smell of the soil and the smell of the wind as they are. Furthermore, recently they have also tried folk music from around the world, such as Indonesian ketcha, Thailand, Malaysia, and South Pacific Fiji.
In 2006/3, the first half album “N'Jami” (includes all 5 songs from N'Jami theme song/Togany Ayagu/Tinsagu no Hana/Koina Yunta/Acchamae).
Part of the proceeds generated by N'Jami's activities will be donated to Save the Children (an NGO organization officially recognized by the United Nations) for the relief of children suffering from critical situations around the world through the ScoSiI Fund. A total of 1,310,619 yen was donated over the 6 years from 2005 to 2011.
Since 2007, he has been selected as a goodwill ambassador for Japan by the NPO corporation Sing Out Asia, and has performed in Asian countries.
Up to now, they have performed twice in Taiwan and Jakarta, Indonesia, and in Taiwan and Malaysia in 2011/7.

N'Jami is a chorus group based in Okinawa that sings Okinawa and world folk songs. The group was formed in August 2005 with 17 members. The name N'Jami came from traditional sea festival, “Njyami” held at various locations purchased Okinawa. The group presents a sense of nostalgia and wonder in their chorus of traditional folk songs passed down from old times. Recently, the group has expanded its musical career to sing music including Kechak of Indonesia and folk songs from Thailand, Malaysia, and Fiji in South Pacific Ocean. In 2007, the group was organized by an NPO, Sing Out Asia, as the Japanese ambassadors of friendship and has been ambassadors in various Asian countries and regions. So far, the group twice in Taiwan and Jakarta, and in July 2011, in Taiwan and Malaysia.
