Profile

An Okinawan pop music group of 3 young women formed in 2010/6, produced by Masaaki Uechi (Parsha Club) and Kannari (Syakari). She made her major debut with the mini album “Sun Sunner” in 2011/2.

The current members are three people: Yuri (Kaneshiro Yurihide) from Naha, who has been singing folk songs since she was young due to her mother's influence; Asa (Nishiyama Asako), who has entered Okinawa Prefectural University of Art from Osaka and has been working on Okinawan performing arts since she is so inclined towards Okinawan music; and Ai (Moriyama Ai), a skilled person who learned Ryukyu dance from elementary school and works as an instructor in HIPHOP dance that began in high school. A fun Okinawan pop concert where you can sing and dance will be held in a style where Yurie acts as the center vocalist while playing Sanshin, and Asa and Ai will solidify their sides while gracefully dancing Ryukyu dance. Currently, they are actively performing live performances not only inside and outside the prefecture but also at music events in Taiwan.

Incidentally, “sun sun” means cicada in the Okinawan dialect, but it also has the meaning of “lively girl.”
