Profile
Amami III was born in 1965 in Tokyo. Since I was a child, I grew up listening to the shamisen played by my grandfather from Kikaijima every day. I started playing the guitar in middle school, and in my 20s, I was active at live houses, etc. When I was over 30, I started Amami shimauta (local music) on the occasion of my grandfather's sudden death, and studied under ASAZAKI Ikue. In addition to being active as his teacher's accompanist since 1999, he formed the sima song unit “Maburi” with the gimbe player Nara Daisuke and began activities. She made her major debut with “Oshima Elegy” in 2018.
