Profile

Born in Chatan in 1972. His grandfather Hiroshi MATSUDA was a master of classical music from the Nomura school, and his father was MATSUDA Hirokazu, a master of three lines. His uncle was Koji Matsuda, one of the top guitarist in the prefecture and Kozo Matsuda, who is active as a bassist. He grew up in an environment surrounded by music since childhood.
He won the Ryukyu Folk Song Association Newcomer Award in 1990 while in high school, and won the Excellence Award in 2001. After that, he moved to the Ryukyu Music Association to receive the highest award and won the Academy Grand Prize at “Shine Folk Song Academy”. CD debut on album “Hariyoi Bido” in 2002. Released the 2nd album “Moon Sayaka” in 2010. In recent years, while obtaining a 3-line teacher's license, he has been actively working on live activities both inside and outside the prefecture.
