Profile
Born in 1973 Nakagusuku Village, Okinawa Prefecture, in a family that follows the Ryukyu Dynasty. She began singing at a young age, moved to Tokyo through local musical activities, and released the mini album “True South Wind (Maffei)” as a singer-songwriter in 1997. In 2002, she made her major debut with the single “Never Cut Your Hair.” She is popular for her transparent singing voice and bright personality, and in addition to live activities, she is also active as a personality on Radio Fukushima, etc.
On 2011/13/11, the Great East Japan Earthquake struck during a live broadcast on Radio Fukushima. Since then, the “Smile Again 0311” support project has been launched, and they are also actively working on support activities for disaster-stricken areas.
