Also, 30 years ago, in 1995 (Heisei 7), Higa Masao (1936-2009), director of the Folklore Department of the National Museum of History and Folklore, obtained the cooperation of both Kouchibaki and Akahigibaku to produce the Reki Hiroshi research video “Okinawa Itoman Monchu Event: Opening of the Gate and the Beginning of the Year of the Gods”.
Based on this video, Rekihiro began research and research from 2022 (Reiwa 4) with the theme “now” of the Itoman Monchu event, and produced a new research video. The history of Itoman Monchu, the current state of Monchu events, and the significance of utilizing video records will be examined with video screenings.
