In 2024/9, a policy for dismantling of the Motobu Town Public Market was suddenly announced. In order to record the history of the market and the activities of the shopkeepers, a book called “2024 Motobu Town Public Market” (HB BOOKS) was published by interviewing 23 people. Now that 1 year has passed since publication, a photo exhibition by Hashimoto Michiji, the author of this book, is being held to convey the current state of the Motobu Municipal Market.
Hashimoto Tomofumi (Hashimoto Tomofumi)
Born in 1982 in Hiroshima Prefecture. A writer. His books include “Drive-In Exploration” (Chikuma Bunko), “People in the Naha City The First Makishi Public Market Area”, “And the Market Continues: Asking the Small Town of Naha” (above, book magazine company), and “Revisiting Minnajima” (Kodansha). 10th Saito Shigeta in “Sightseeing Spots Burari” (Ota Publishing)
Received the Travel Literature Award.
