Jesmin Ward was the first African American writer to win the National Book Award twice. From 2000 to 2004, five young people who were very close to her lost their lives one after another. A talk event where the translators themselves explain the latest work “The Men We Harvest,” which is the first memoir challenged by an up-and-coming writer in order to determine the true nature of structural racism that is deeply rooted in the American South.
