Okinawa has been said to have a “low probability of an earthquake occurring,” but that safety myth has wavered due to the increase in earthquakes in recent years. In order to protect historic buildings that are important cultural properties and regional treasures, and connect them to the future, a public-private partnership system that transcends fields is essential. In this project, architects working at the forefront of the Noto Peninsula Earthquake are invited to think together about the state of disaster prevention, mitigation, and reconstruction systems in Okinawa.
