Cast: Masatoshi Metori (novelist)

Okinawa was turned into a “abandoned stone for mainland defense” in the Battle of Okinawa, and then forced to be sacrificed as a “keystone of Japan-US security.” As a novelist, Masatoshi Medori has continued to question his memories of the Battle of Okinawa, and has continued to stand on the site of resisting Takae's helipad construction and the construction of a new Henoko base. Now that the history of the Battle of Okinawa has been rewritten and the air imposing war on Okinawa spreads, I will talk about thoughts and actions against war. From 13:30, the general meeting of the Okinawa-Itsubo Anti-War Landlord Association Kanto Block will also be held (members only).

Metori Masatoshi (novelist)
Born in Nakijin-son, Okinawa Prefecture in 1960. It received the Akutagawa Award for “Droplets of Water” (1997) and the Kawabata Yasunari Award for “Put Your Soul in” (1999). The short story “Path of the Soul” (Kageshobō, 2023) is a recent publication. In addition to novels, there are reviews such as “Okinawa “After the War”: Zekouten Shinsho (2005) and “From the Deep Forest and Sea of Yanbaru” (Kageshobo, 2020). Blog “From the Sound of the Sea 2” (https://awamori777.hatenablog.com)で基地建設反対の今をリポートしている.
