Author Biography Kodama Eriko (Kodama Eriko)
Ph.D. (Literature, Waseda University). From childhood, he was well received by Negishi (Sho) Tsuneko, the last king of the Ryukyu Kingdom, the commander-in-chief of the Ryukyu Kingdom. After working as a part-time employee at the Tokyo National Museum Curatorial Department Crafts Division Dyeing and Weaving Office, a nationally designated important intangible cultural property “Benigata” holder (Living National Treasure), Tamanaha Yuuprincess Saito Naha Crimson Studio, and a commissioned curator at the Urasoe Art Museum, he is a curator at the Ocean Expo Memorial Park Management Foundation (Okinawa Churashima Foundation). After retiring, he worked as a curator at Donald Keane Center Kashiwazaki, etc., and is currently in his current position. His main works include “Illustrated Ryukyu Dyeing and Weaving” (Kawade Shobō Shinsha, 2005), “Ryukyu Crimson Style” (ADP, 2012), “Early Kabuki/Ryukyu Court Dance Genealogy - Mitsuba Aoi, Cherry Blossoms, and Wisteria Flowers-” (Kinshosha, 2022), and “Iconography of Traditional Performing Arts and Folk Performing Arts (Iconography)” (Kinshosha, 2024). Received the 10th Kimura Shigenobu Folk Art Society Award
