Here are the works of 3 potters who continue to make pottery with a different approach from Okinawan folk pottery. What the three have in common is a strong feeling for wood-burning kilns, especially the traditional “anagama.” While there is a risk of burnout damage due to uneven flame flow, it creates rich expressions on the front and back of the fire and shapes full of chance. A group of works with different backgrounds, such as the techniques and spirituality of Ryukyu pottery, tea and sencha culture, rituals, and texture, etc., are powerfully launched by anagama.
