“Cinema at Sea - Okinawa Pacific Rim International Film Festival” is an international film festival from Okinawa focusing on the Pacific Rim region. The film festival, which has been held with the aim of discovering and disseminating excellent films, creating opportunities for mutual understanding between cultures, ethnic groups, and individuals of various countries, supporting local businesses, and widely disseminating works by talented local artists, has been renewed to a system where the main festival with a competition section and special screenings in line with each year's theme are alternately held every other year. In 2026, films produced by Uchinanchu and Japanese immigrants from around the world will be specially screened as a special screening “Homecoming.”

A documentary film focusing on modern slavery that still remains on the Indonesian island of Sumba.
● Closing work: “The Story of Uncle Buka” (2025/92 minutes/Papua New Guinea, India)
This is Papua New Guinea's first official entry for the Academy Award for International Feature Film (Japan premiere).
