Lecturer Atsushi Takashima is working on research to elucidate the formation of forests and explore an appropriate balance between their use and conservation, with a focus on Yambaru. This is the 4th collaboration event series between “Professor Takashima of the University of the Ryukyus” and “Oshima Active Ranger from the Ministry of the Environment”, which began in 2022 (no content and continuity up to 3 times). In this year's main activity, we will enter the forest path of Ryukyu University Yona Field, which can only be entered through practical training by Ryukyu University students. A little further up the mountain, there is also a boar fence that was once built to protect fields from ryukyu boars, and you can learn about the connection between people and the forest in Yanbaru Forest.
