In the midst of the Vietnam War, nuclear weapon use training was being conducted in Okinawa, and a serious radioactivity leak occurred in the ammunition depot at Camp Hague (Okinawa City), and Marines were exposed to it. Now that “nuclear sharing” is being called out and “nuclear expansion and deterrence” is being strengthened, this symposium aims to know and think about the past and present of Okinawa and nuclear and ammunition depots, and connect it to action in order to never make Okinawa a base for nuclear weapons again.
