At the Kyoto International Manga Museum, the special exhibition “Manga and War Exhibition 2,” which introduces various “war comics,” will be held as a traveling exhibition between Okinawa and Kyoto, as the 80th year after the war. As a “sequel” to an exhibition held at the Kyoto International Manga Museum in 2015, 70 years after the war, this time it was planned to delve into the Battle of Okinawa. It is also a project related to the “Kyoto International Manga Anime Fair 2025 (commonly known as Kyo Mafu).”
Exhibition Structure and Exhibits
● Introduction of war comics for each theme shown in 4 quadrants
Exhibiting 28 representative works on 7 themes, including “Okinawa,” “Atomic Bomb,” “Special Attack,” and “Manchuria.”
● Introducing original pictures of war comics you should read/watch now (2 manga artists from the prefecture)
