The names of more than 240,000 people who died in the Battle of Okinawa etc. are engraved on the Peace Foundation in Mabunito Peace Memorial Park in Itoman City. Mozart's “Requiem” concert was held in 2015/12 in order to send prayers for permanent peace to the whole world from Peace Memorial Park, starting with the Okinawa Peace Hall, in 2015/12, 70 years after the war, and since 2016, concerts have been held every year in June, which is Okinawa's memorial month. This year marks the 80th anniversary of the end of the war. As this performance enters its 10th year, they will perform a program including a new Requiem.
