Onaga Yasuko (94) was born in Naha. Yasuko, who was a military girl, refused to persuade her family to evacuate to Yamahara, and at age 15 she volunteered for the Japanese Army's Nagaoka Corps and was in charge of nursing and cooking. I worked to protect the Shuri headquarters from the US military. US military horse-riding attack on evacuation shelters. Then the south withdrew. What she saw along the way...
